HARNESSING THE POWER OF THE BREATH
The way we breathe affects everything we do, everything we think and everything we feel. It affects our sleep, our digestion, our immune system, our energy levels, our emotions, our ability to think clearly and our relationships, to name but a few.
I used to take my breath for granted, I mean we are all breathing all the time, what’s so special about it? Statistics show that over 70% of adults in the west have poor or dysfunctional breathing habits, I know that was me.
The good news is there is so much we can do to support a healthy change. When we place our conscious attention on our breath we can use it to help regulate our nervous system, we can learn to relax and calm ourselves or to energise and motivate ourselves. Giving us the tools to move through life feeling stronger, better and more full of joy.
In this course we will be combining my passions of Qigong and Breathwork to help bring us into balance so we can move though Autumn into winter full of peace and vitality.
In Chinese Medicine Autumn is associated with our lungs, our skin, the element of AIR and of course our breath. It is a great time of year to give your lungs some extra support which in turn will help to improve your immune system, releasing stress and physical tension, and making space for the fresh life force energy to flow through your whole body.
Everyone is welcome to join the course no matter your experience.
When: 31st October – 21st December (Winter Solstice)
Tuesday Evenings 6-7.15pm and Thursday mornings 9-9.30am (via Zoom)
Dates:
- Tuesdays 6-7.15pm: October 31st, November 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, December 5th, 12th and 19th.
- Thursdays 9-9.30am: November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, December 7th, 14th and 21st.
